Is there a customized Information protection policy file for Data classification for Canada and USA ?

I m referring data classification offered by SQL server 2012 and above -

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/security/sql-data-discovery-and-classification?view=sql-server-ver15&tabs=t-sql

When I scan my DB on SQL server 2012 to generate the Data classifcation report it uses a default policy ( which has GDPR - ( european laws)) . I was wondering what laws are applicable to the data in Canada and USA ?

Is there a customized file from Microsoft to use to set the Information protection policy

Azure SQL Database

SQL Server
A family of Microsoft relational database management and analysis systems for e-commerce, line-of-business, and data warehousing solutions.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

The GDPR also applies to Canadian and USA.

Please refer to the blog Important GDPR Requirements for companies in Canada and USA to get more.
