Remote desktop only recognizes second monitor after restarting RDP session

I am working at home and have an old Dell Optiplex 9010 running Windows 10 here with two monitors. I use remote desktop to connect to a physical Windows 10 machine (a newer Dell Optiplex, also with two monitors) on the campus where I work. Every day I start up an RDP session to connect to the remote machine. I never have any problems with the connection but the first time I connect it almost never recognizes the second monitor. I then have to exit the RDP session, start it up again, and then it recognizes the second monitor. It takes only a few seconds to do this but it's annoying and does waste time. Is there anything I might do differently to get both monitors recognized the first time I connect? Thanks.

    Hi,
Firstly, I suggest that you could check for update. If any update could be found, please install them to check.
Then try to reinstall your video card drive from the manufacturer's official website.
Also I suggest that change the screen resolution to check.
Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.
    Best Regards,
    Carl
