My Minecraft Windows 10 starter collection is having sound issues

My Minecraft sound is low pitch and very distorted it also has a static sound running throughout. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but that doesn't fix the issue I'm having. Every sound in the game is distorted and unbearable to listen to. I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem or if I can have some help with this issue
