newform error after migration from 2010 to 2016

I am getting below windows when I click on new item, which is blocking me to create new form.
even I tried to create new form from designer it is not taking changes to server as per the error message. Please help

we have migrated using db method from 2010 to 2013 & to 2016. this is issue in 2016.

Hi @sns ,

It looks like text boxes have been missing on new items page. Have you referred to the source code of the .aspx page to verify if there is anything missing? Please check it in SharePoint Designer 2013.

To your second error, "Could not save the list changes to the server" appears when trying to create new form, let's verify the followings:

Is there any Lookup column or calculated column based on other broken columns in your list?

Try to clear SharePoint Designer 2013 cache to see if it proceeds. Reference: How to Clear Your SharePoint Designer 2010/2013 Cache.

Run command Get-SPFeature | Sort -Property Id -> Search for a Feature named Developer with the property GUID e374875e-06b6-11e0-b0fa-57f5dfd72085 -> Run the following command to disable the feature: Disable-SPFeature -Identity "e374875e-06b6-11e0-b0fa-57f5dfd72085" -Url http://sitecollectionurl.

Hi Allen,

All aspx pages seems to be same. where to verify the code?

yes there is lookup column

cleared the cache but still same error not allowing to create new form

devloper feature is there but, it seems it is not activated at all. PFA

Thanks for your instant response.

Open the new item page in SharePoint Designer. Click Ctrl+F to search a column name, check if text box is included in a <td> tag.

If there is a Lookup column in the list, check if the column connected to the Lookup column is existing and works normally.

Hi Allen,
New form and edit form appears to be having the issue, when I click on view item it is showing values. Please see below screenshot which is same for new and edit forms.

Could you please tell me if you have checked the column connected to the lookup column is working normally? For example, Lookuptest is a Lookup column in my list, Title column in test1 list is the column connected to Lookuptest. Need to check if Title column in test1 list works normally.

Many issues like yours is caused by this per my experience, please firstly check it and tell me the outcome.

so should I search in code with name lookuptest or title?

and I search for lookup column test but not found from code ( I clicked on newform to see code from designer)

No need to create a new column. You said that you have a lookup column in your list, right? Just check that lookup column in your list.

In the code, search any column in the screenshot which has no text box to type value into.(like "Name", "Cost Center"....)

organization 2 is the lookup column, not found in the td it seems. pfa

Code seems to be normal.

Check each lookup column in column details page, find the source column of each look up column, verify each source column works normally.

What is source column: in my above example, Title column in test1 list is the source column of Lookuptest column.

Check if there is source column has been deleted. You can test to insert items in source list.

Each lookup column needs to be checked.

I found one lookup column where there is no source list it seems, does it blocking creating new form in the designer?
do we need to delete this? please suggest

@sns ,

Yes it may be the cause of this issue. You have to delete the broken Lookup columns. Make sure no other broken Lookup columns in your list.
