I want to get text message alerts when receiving emails from certain people and I used to have this function. It was awesome! I updated my outlook today and the function appears to no longer work and I can’t find how to go in and fix it. Any help would be appreciated!! I love this function and want to get it set up again

Did you mean that the "display a specific message in the new item alert window" option in Outlook rules that works like below?

If so, I have tested on my Outlook 365 version 2104(Build 13929.20086), but the alert window could work normally there. So what's the version of your Outlook client(File>Office account>About Outlook)? And have you tried to test on other accounts in your Outlook?

Also, corrupted rules may also cause it, it's also suggested to re-create a rule for testing.

Thanks for the answer! I actually meant receiving text alerts on my phone when I receive an email from specific people. If the text message option has been removed (which it seems like it was) it would be helpful to receive an outlook notification on my phone when receiving emails from certain people. It works on my computer with the rules, like you suggested, but really looking for a way to get notified on my phone.

Thanks for your update.

In the point of Outlook client, we couldn't send a text message to your phone directly, this feature may be more related to your mailbox itself. And according to my research, the text message notification service was indeed supported for some mailboxes before, but it has been discontinued for many mailboxes (such as Microsoft 365(Exchange Online)), for more information, you could refer to this article : Text message notifications in Outlook on the web

If that's your case, it's suggested to download Outlook for Android or Outlook for iOS to get notification on phone as the official article mentioned.
