How to migrate SMTP server in the same server as my application?

I have an application that is currently hosted on a Windows Server 2016. I am also using SMTP that is hosted on a separate server. Is it possible to put the SMTP and web server in the same server? If yes, how will I migrate the SMTP to join the windows server? Also, how will I know if my SMTP server is compatible in integrating with my windows server? Thanks in advance for answering.
