Hi,

I have to import a specific update but I cannot see the button import on Internet Microsoft Update catalog page. Instead I can see Download and I can download the update.
I use Windows 2019 server with Internet browser and do not use any proxy server.
I tried to reset IE11, to run IE11 as Administrator, to add the website in the trusted websites in vain.

See below what I see.

Can you please help me to fix my issue?

Thank you in advance and Regards,
William.

    Hello Rita,

    I finally found the problem.

Indeed, there was a mistake in the key, a \ was missing between Microsoft and .NETFramework.

I think there is a bug on the site when you add a back slash + a point. It's removed automatically.

Everything is working properly right now.

Thank you very much for your help and have a great day.
    William

You need to right click the "Updates" view in the WSUS MMC and then click on "Import Updates" which will then open IE and you'll be shown the import update button in the catalog.

You must also do this from the WSUS Server itself.

Thank you, I didn't know that I have to copy the link. Indeed by default is WSUS open Microsoft Edge Chromium instead of IE.

Know I have another error message, see below.

I already added successfully that key:

    reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft.NETFramework\v4.0.30319 /V SchUseStrongCrypto /T REG_DWORD /D 1

    What's wrong?

    Hello William,

Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

In order to help me research further, please help to confirm the following:
Did all the updates or the specified updates couldn't import to WSUS console? You want to import 2021-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5001567). Right? I test it in my lab and it worked successfully.

    Reference picture:

Please refer to the below picture to import updates on the WSUS console manually:
    86009-18.png

Then you have to install the Microsoft Update Catalog software on the WSUS Server and import the specified updates subsequently.

Please feel free to inform me if there are any updates about this issue.

Thanks for your time and have a nice day.

    Regards,
    Rita

    Hello Rita,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I understood the issue.

Because Microsoft Edge Chromium was my default browser I didn't see that there was 2 Urls after to click to Import updates in WSUS. Unfortunately I copied the second one instead of the first one to IE.

    First Url
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=66676&SKU=WSUS&Version=10.0.17763.678&ServerName=SVR-NAME&PortNumber=8530&Ssl=False&Protocol=1.20

Then we are redirected to this Url
    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx?SKU=WSUS&Version=10.0.17763.678&ServerName=SVR-NAME&PortNumber=8530&Ssl=False&Protocol=1.20pdate Catalog

To avoid it, I can also defined IE as default browser.

Unfortunately I still have an issue. Yes I cannot import any updates, see below.

So I clicked on Import Updates in WSUS, now I can see the Import button.

Then I have that window and clicked on YES

After a couple of seconds, I got progress failed with an error message.

I confirm that I do not use any proxy and added the reg key.

Thank you in advance and regards,
    William
