Windows 11 isn't recognizing that my display can go up to 4K.

Thank you for all the help, but I no longer need help with this issue, as I no longer use the computer that has this issue.

I have a 4K display, yet Windows will only let me go up to 1080p.

Here are some screenshots:

This screenshot (taken in the Settings app) shows that the highest my monitor can go is 1080p.

This screenshot (taken from the Intel Graphics app) shows that the highest my monitor goes is 4K.

Is there any way to get the Settings app to recognize that my monitor goes up to 4K?

If anyone figures this out put it behind a paywall.... you'll make a mint doing what the jeets at MSFT are not doing.... Microsoft this has been a problem since Windows 10. And its not driver related as both monitors are the same and using the same drivers from Lenovo and using the lates Intel Graphics drivers. Of course, just like when I worked at MSFT, nobody cares about anyone... what are you going to do? move to a MAC? Linux?

The app doesn't let me change resolutions. If I try to change resolutions, it just boots me to the Settings app.

    Hi Xemxia,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

Set the resolution in the Intel Graphics Command Center Application, it will force Windows to recognize the resolution.

I know you no longer care but I will post this for anyone else with this issue the problem was mine as well. it turns out my issue was not windows not the monitor or the GPU driver in the end I had a multiple monitor setup where one of the monitors connected was forcing lower resolution on the 4k monitor as soon as I disconnected that monitor my 4k monitor returned to working properly.

I had this issue and the problem was resolved by changing the cable. Even though the original one I was using said it was 4K ready, it didn't support the 4K signal. Not going to be a fix for everyone I'm sure, but could be useful. Originally was using DisplayPort to HDMI, and then swapped for a displayPort to DisplayPort which just worked as soon as I switched it.
