Unknown icon in system tray

On my Windows 7 professional system. The highlighted icon in the attached image appears on every reboot. Clicking on it open Windows explorer. As far as I understand it looks like a 'generic volume' icon similar to one in device manager.

However, I don't understand why it's opening My Computer86566-systray0.png

This is normal when you click on an icon from File Explorer
For example, on my PC, I have at boot a similar icon because I have waiting files to be burned on CD, and If I click on it, it also opens Explorer on the CD drive
