BitLocker Decryption Taking forever to complete.

Question

Hi,

I recently deleted my Ubuntu partition and added it to my Windows C drive (which is BitLocked). I'm now trying to decrypt the and it is taking forever to complete.

Of note, the drive is about 400GB.

I've waited for about 12 hours and it is still decrypting.

May I know when to expect the completion of the process. I have assignments to complete using the Laptop.

Microsoft says it takes 1 minute to decrypt 500MB, since your drive is 400GB, by that rule, that would take 800 Minutes or 13.3 hours . . .

However, the Microsoft estimation is based on optimal conditions, so I would say, maybe 15 hours, to decrypt that drive

Its been over 36 hours and my drive (~480GB) is still undergoing decryption on the black screen.

Is there a problem?

Does the decryption depend on the architecture and specifications of the machine?

Please clarify.

Yes, the specs of you PC would affect the decryption speed, since it is purely a number crunching process

What are the Specs of your PC?

If I had an encrypted Ubuntu Virtual Machine running on the Windows drive, will this add to the computational cost of the decryption process?

My thing is still running and it's been over 42 hours.
