Hi, @sns1 ,

According to your description, I assume the tooltip displaying name of the attachment will not work only when the link having _layouts/15/start.aspx# part. If this is your issue. It could be an issue of the Minimal Download Strategy feature. When we enable the MDS, we will have this part in the URL.

First, in a default SharePoint custom list, we will not have a tooltip when hover on the paperclip icon. I assume you are using some JavaScript to get this functionality. And there used to be discussions about the MDS Minimal Download Strategy feature. This feature will block or interrupt jQuery or Java script from running properly.

Reference:

So for now, first we can test with disabling this feature to check if it will work fine. If the tooltip comes back without this feature activated, disabling the feature could be the most straightforward solution. And if that is not acceptable, you may need to update the script you are currently using. Just like the link I provide, there are some ways to make it work with MDS.

Hi, @sns1 ,

The original issue is the script will not work when the URL has _layouts/15/start.aspx# part. And after disabling the MDS feature, the page URL shall not have this part anymore. So what is the problem now? Are there URLs left in some lists having that part? By default the page shall be redirected to a URL that works (not having _layouts/15/start.aspx#). Please share us more information about the current issue.

If possible, please share us with the script you are using now. I will test in my end.

Hi Jerry Xu,

Before I raised a question itself MDS feature is inactive and not having a tooltip when hover on the paperclip icon in the thrid link as per my first thread, still the same behavior
I just want to mention here I have not done anything to feature, from beginning itself it is deactivated

Are there URLs left in some lists having that part? ( I have not understand, can you please brief me? )

When you say redirection, does it mean to when browse 3 rd url it should redirect to first url? ( as per my description in my first thread)?
Please find script in the attached screenshot ( from elements area in the developer tool)

and one more claification from below statement, what is meaning of we will have this part in the URL?
It could be an issue of the Minimal Download Strategy feature. When we enable the MDS, we will have this part in the URL.

what we should do to see attachment icon in the 3rd link,?
