Cannot open shared folder in OneDrive business (403 forbidden)

Hi,

I cannot open a shared folder on one drive business. Every time I try it says: '403 forbidden'. I know the folder is fine because my colleagues can open it.

I have the feeling there was some kind of mix up between my personal accounts and my business account.

I tried the following:

  1. I removed the email used for the business account from my personal one (it was used as alias, since before having the business account we were using a shared folder on the personal one drive)
2 Different browsers, incognito mode, cookies clean up and so on.

When my work e-email was still part of my personal account, I was added to a Microsoft teams group of another company as a guest. At first it was working, but at a certain point it stopped, so now I cannot even access that one since it says my account does not exist in that company tenant.

Unfortunetely nothing worked, any idea?

Francesco.

    Hi @Francesco Guanziroli ,

    > I know the folder is fine because my colleagues can open it.

<< Do your colleagues use business account or personal account to open the folder? You may try to sign in with your business account on the OneDrive website to check folders shared with you.

    > I was added to a Microsoft teams group of another company as a guest.

<< You could contact the administrator of another company to delete the guest status of your account to have a check.

Besides, is the folder shared by a business account or a personal account?
Please try to use an account in your organization to share a new folder with to check the issue. And make sure you have access to it.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the help!

A bit of context: we all used the personal version and we recently upgraded to the business one. This folder was shared to the new business OneDrive accounts from a business OneDrive account. Everyone can open it (from the business account) besides me.

I will try with a new shared folder, lets see.

I would have avoided involving the other organization but if i cant solve in a couple of days I will contact them.

    Update:
Yesterday I noticed another strange thing that might be the reason of the problem:

When i go on the OneDrive of my business account the url it is somethin like this:

    • https://company tenant-my.sharepoint.com/personal/my account name_company tenant_com1/

While for my colleagues is the same but without the 1 at the end.

As suggested by a Microsoft agent:
'It seems like a PUID mismatch issue. This issue most frequently occurs when a user is deleted and the account is then re-created with the same user name. The new account is created by using a different Passport Unique ID (PUID) value. When the user tries to access a site collection or their OneDrive site, the user has an incorrect PUID. For more detailed explanation of PUID mismatch, please refer to this article.
This issue needs to be checked and fixed from back end. So I sincerely recommend you inform your Office 365 global admin of the issue and ask him to create a support ticket in Microsoft 365 Admin Center>Support>New service request. The support team there has the correct escalation channel for this case. This is also the most efficient way in handling this kind of issue.'

Now the issue is being handled by Microsoft.
