Using CDM without Dynamics 365

Question

Hello,

I'm currently advocating the use of Common Data Model (CDM) for a customer without Dynamics/Salesforce/SAP/Informatica, etc. There are many good reasons to use the CDM but there isn't any industry accelerators (all the industry accelerators have Dynamics)

Any use cases or design patterns someone can point me toward? Specifically, I wish to design an event driven API based architecture using the CDM as a.... common language.
