only half the logical processors are available on Windows Server 2016 , is it a licence issue or NUMA Configuration

Using an intel chip set , two CPU's , 20 cores in each , 40 logical processers per CPU . Therefore the OS should be showing 80 logical processors.

I've tried to set the bios to set NUMA configuration to flat instead of Clustered but the 80 Logical processors are not avalaible to the JVM .

Is this an issue with Windows Server 2016 using a new Intel chipset ?

Is there a configuration setting to enable the OS to see all 80 logical processors ?

Is there a Windows Server 2016 restriction on the number of cores ?

Are you running servers inside the Virtual Machine?
Have you tried checking for update for the server and also drivers?

I'd probably take this up with the server or hardware vendor. It could be a configuration or possibly a firmware issue but either case they should be well versed and will be your best resource to debug.

I'm using a physical server, no virtual machines. The configuration is showing two Numa nodes each showing 40 logical processors . I don't want Windows Server 2016 to balance the load across the Nodes.

It's possible to set the affinity on the application, so I can see it using node0 or node 1.

I believe in some bios configuration this is classified as "Clustered", and I'm looking for "Flat" .

It seems to me that Windows Server 2016 is currently loaded balancing across the Numa nodes. Are there any Windows commands to have all logical processors available for a legacy application?

I have already sent some questions to the Hardware vendor and I will let you know if there's an issue with the bios configuration.

I have started to read about how the Windows server 2016 has the ability to park and unpark logical processors and if Windows server 2016 has configuration options with regards to the accessibility of all the available logical processors.
