We have a productive instance of DPM 2019 running on Windows Server 2019 using a mapped iSCSI volume as backup storage. This volume is formatted with ReFS.
Recently an admin enabled deduplication on this volume with good intentions but without the knowledge that it is not supported by DPM. We disabled deduplication on the volume the next day.
My questions are: What is the immediate impact of this on the reliability of the backup and what is the best way to recover from it?
My plan would be to use the "Move disk storage" function to move each PG member to a new, non-deduplicated iSCSI volume. Will that ensure that backups will function reliably in future?
Grateful for any advice!
