Critical Outlook search issue

Outlook search results are limited to 1025 results.

SearchResultsCap registry key has no effect.

Tested on windows 10 and windows 7 with 1708 and 1808 versions of outlook , all the same result

Hi xMarcus,

Based on your description, I’ve done tests in multiple computers and different account. The registry key won’t take effect on the searching limit. And the search results limited at 1025 after I clear the Improve search speed by limiting the number of results shown (File > Option > Search)checkbox.

And there is no option can remove the search limit in Outlook, the current workaround is switch the search scope to “All Outlook Items” or “All mailboxes”. While I totally understand your inconvenience, I suggest you submit your feedback via the following link:

SOLUTION = DISABLE FAST SEARCH

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Search

Value name: DisableServerAssistedSearch

Value type: REG_DWORD

Value: 1

Maybe we would be better off if search against exchange online wasn't throttled/limited
