VS 2017 Install Error?

Windows 10, latest patches, VS 2017 Professional.
The possible problem was detected while trying to follow some tutorials about adding a dialog box and some controls such at labels, text boxes, and checkbox. Instructions specify to: File -> New -> Project. From there select MCS. My installation does not have a simple MFC option. It has MFC/ATL and when selected the only option is ATL Project. I am unable to find any steps to create an MFC project.
Is something wrong here? If so, where can I find instructions to correct it.

    Hi,

    I suggest you should check whether you have installed the MFC SDK. Open the VS Installer window, you could click on "Individual Components", then scroll quite a way down to get to the "SDKs, libraries and frameworks" section. In there, you'll find a list of components for ATL and MFC support. You could choose the version you need to install. For example: "Visual C++ MFC for x86 and x64"
