My question is simple but very important to me.

I have got a new laptop with Windows 11, do I need to get extra antivirus malware protection or with Windows Defender I am sufficiently covered?

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

It is not necessary to install a third-party antivirus. Windows Security already provides the protection you need, in addition to other features.

David, can you help. My computer is about 1 year old and it came with windows 11. I used defender as my anti virus and I was able to run scans almost every day. As of two days ago my Defender is not working. when I am in settings and in Privacy& security it is not lighted up and it will not open. On the bottom of the screen where there are the small icons the blue shield has a yellow caution.

I tried downloading defender thinking a reload or somethong would work and now I am being asled to subscribe to windows 365
