Turning off Firewall &/or McAfee Anti-Virus temporarily

I've been having a problem with the 4k YouTube to MP3 program, and this is one of support's suggestions:

Turn off firewall, antivirus or any other program that may interfere with 4K YouTube to MP3's working at least for the time of downloading. If it has solved the issue for you, please add 4K YouTube to MP3 into the white list of that program in order to download with no interruptions and to stay safe while browsing the net.

This Windows 10 is very new to me, and came with McAfee installed, and I have absolutely no idea how to go about this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

See if the following steps help you get there, Steve:

    1. Right-click the McAfee logo in the Windows Taskbar down the the time, then select “Change Settings” > “Firewall“.
    2. Select the “Internet Connections for Programs” option.
    3. Choose the program you wish to allow access, then select “Edit“. If the program is not listed, select the “Add” button, then select “Browse” to choose the application.
    4. In the “Access” section, select “Incoming and outgoing” to allow both incoming and outgoing traffic to the applications. Otherwise select “Outgoing Only” to allow only outbound traffic.
    5. For the drop-down menu “Use designated ports” should be sufficient to work with most apps. Otherwise, you can select “Open ports to Home and Work networks“, or “Open to all devices“.
    6. There is also a “Net Guard” section. This setting can block some traffic on certain apps. If you have problems with the application after setting all the items above, you may want to set “Net Guard” to “Off“.
    7. Select “Save“.
    8. Close McAfee Personal Firewall.

Probably you have to allow the app on McAfee, then. it took over the Windows Firewall settings.

Can you tell me what version of McAfee are you using?

    McAfee Live Safe  - 16.0

    McAfee Securuty Center 18.5

H, Stevei! I'm Leonardo! An Independent Advisor and also a Microsoft user for several years. I'll be more than happy to assist you today!

You can try whitelist 4K YouTube to MP3 on Windows Firewall. To manage the whitelist in the Windows Firewall:

1)Click Start, type firewall and click Windows Firewall.

2)Click Allow a program or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

3)On the next screen, click Allow another app...

4)Select the exe file of the program you want to whitelist and click Add.

    5)Click OK.

I hope this helps! See if that works and let me know.

When I got to Allow an App or feature through Windows Firewall Defender, nothing happens when I click it. It appears to be disabled because of this ->   There's also a yellow shield alert saying that these settings are being managed by vendor application McAfee firewall.
