Unable to backup Microsoft Authenticator on Android

Hi,

I have been using Authenticator on android for a while, however it stopped backing up a month or two ago. When I go into the app and select backup, the system reports:

Sign in to update backup... Sign In

Then..Something went wrong, please send us logs using the Send Logs option. However there is no way of specifically triggering the log to be sent other than to switch "usage data" on or off.

How do I resolve this without deleting my account or re-installing? I would not want to have to recreate each of the many account credentials in the app.

Note that I am able to log into my microsoft account (allocated as my backup account) from within the app, when I select that account from the list. This is/should not be a credentials issue.

Thanks a stack in advance

In my case, Tapping the Turn on backup option, only shows me "Something went wrong. Please send us logs using the Send logs option.". I've tried to clear cache and app data, deleted the app, followed by a soft reset, then reinstalling the app. It doesn't work. I still can't backup. I've tried to restore an earlier backup I had from my iOS phone to my Android phone, it doesn't work either. I've already sent logs from within the app. From what I see, a lot of people are having problems backing up and restoring their accounts.

    Hi,

Yes and the tool responds that there was an error and to send the log files.

Aside from removing it (bad option) can I reset the backup or login?

    Regards
