Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080P not working on Windows 10

I have just got a LifeCam Studio, plugged it straight in and it installed. However it doesn't seem to work at all, all drivers are up to date and the OS is fully up to date too.

I feel like I am going round in circles, I really need this explaining properly.

The camera app doesn't pick up the camera but Skype does. However Skype is showing nothing but a black screen.

The light on the camera is not turning on.

    Hi @Ryan Pinkett

    Had the same issue with my LifeCam Studio recently. I was about to run out and buy a new webcam but discovered this fix.

    1. Download and run the firmware 1033 from this site (Microsoft somehow deleted this from theirs):
      http://dl2.opendrivers.com/dl_file.php?dl=dl2&brand=cameras-and-mp3-player%2Fmicrosoft&file=StudioFW1033.exe&check=f19t04a588cu7f&driver=0c0j94c1
    2. Rename the file by removing the ' from the filename.
    3. Follow the instructions.

    This should hopefully make it work.

    I had all sorts of problems, including the black screen in Skype, and the camera eventually dropping after a while in both Skype and Zoom. I had a REXX routine to delete all the associated device instances so that the drivers would reload, but the two registry keys from https://www.mattwoodward.com/2016/09/14/fixing-issues-with-microsoft-lifecam-studio-on-windows-10/ seem to have eventually resolved my problem.
