My WD USB external storage for backup has worked perfectly for 2 years. I use Acronis True Image with it also. I never had a problem. My OS is Windows 10 Pro 64. Windows will not recognize the drive now and I have tried to troubleshoot the problem with no result. The WD unit is on and spinning but I can not access it. I downloaded an app from WD.com to check the unit and is says all good. Please help. bobbysanti@attmvno .net

Windows hardware is not currently supported here on QnA. They're actively answering question in dedicated forums here.

If "cannot access it" simply means that the drive has no drive letter, you can assign it a letter using Disk Management.

If this is a hardware issue, you have already been provided a link to find support for that.
