Outlook 365 is being killed forcefully while upgrading to "Veritas Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-in 12.5.1221". Do we have any switch or any other way to prevent killing Outlook?

Thanks for your quick response here, Raniel. I already reached out to the Veritas support team with my concern but, they suggested checking with Microsoft Support.

    Hi Bala144,

Thank you for your feedback. If creating a scheduled task is not possible on your end, I suggest that you coordinate your concern with the veritas support: https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US and see if they'll be able to suggest a way on how to install the add-in without closing outlook.

Hey Raniel thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I have used /quiet /norestart switches for silent install. I had to add the killing process in the script during install but I am actually looking not to kill the Outlook during installation. Do we have any other way(like customizing it via Orca OR so) rather than creating Task Sequence?

Good day! I'm Raniel, a Microsoft user like you. I understand your frustration regarding this issue and I'll do my best to help.

Just to clarify, have you also tried to use the /quiet switch? You may run the command msiexec.exe /i <msi file>.msi /quiet /norestart

It is also possible that the installation requires that Outlook 365 is closed before it proceeds with the installation of the add-in. Another method to install it is to create a scheduled task that triggers the installation of the msi file during startup, or once the user logs on. This ensures that no office applications are running so it can install properly. You may refer to this article as a guide: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server...

I hope this helps. Good luck!
