[SOLVED] Working touch-screen as secondary monitors on Windows 11

I have recently a second touch-screen monitor to use with my PC. It works perfectly except for the fact that touch does not work if it is set up as the second display. For Windows 10 I have to use "Table PC Settings" to assign touch input to secondary monitor. On Windows 11 I cannot find any tools like this. So the touch input is always triggering primary monitor.

    Hello Mr Adrian,

In the control panel, change the icons to large icons

    Image

Then you will be able to see the "Tablet PC" icon, click it.

From there you seem to be familiar with how to do set it up, but will go over the next couple steps just in case you dont.

    Click "Setup"

Finally, all your screens should turn white with a this text in the middle of the primary screen "Tap this screen with a single finger to identify it as the touch screen. If this is not the table PC screen, Press Enter to move to the next screen".

Press Enter until you get to the monitor you want to use as a touch screen. NOTE: I am not sure if you can use more than one touch screen with Windows 11... yet.

I would like to point out that while this works, if you hibernate your pc, the touchscreen often reverts to the primary monitor on reload. Because of this I literally have to keep the tablet pc settings shortcut on my desktop so I can switch it back every time I turn the pc back on.

In my case I have a laptop that has a secondary monitor with a touchscreen, and the primary monitor is 4k. In windows 10 this never happened. But in windows 11, about 80% of the time when I close the laptop (which is set to hibernate), when I open it again and start it up, the secondary monitor's touchscreen inevitably is set to the primary monitor again.

    Hi Adrian_Mr,

Thanks for bringing up your concern in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you'd like to enable the touch input on your second touch-screen monitor on Windows 11. As a workaround, it is kindly advised to set your second monitor as the primary monitor to achieve the effect.

Click Start > Settings > Display > Multiple displays > Drag the icon 2 and drag it in front of icon 1, or click icon 2 and then check Make this my main display.

Feel free to reach back if you need further assistance.

    Hi Lynn Sun

I am sorry, but this is not possible because my current monitor as main is 4K. My secondary monitor is just HD.

For some application I use secondary monitor as control board like in msfs 2020 and I cannot switch full-screen-application on secondary monitor.

So pleas report this as missing function from Windows 10 as Bug/Needs.

    Best Regards,
    Adrian
