[unsolve] Windows unable to complete the format

since, i try to format my external drive because of MS technician suggest me to format it

I passed around 5 techinician of MS and no one can help me.

After i re-install windows 11 and cleaning my computer i still cannot format my external drive.

i try so many way and let MS assistant remote to my computer to fix it but cannot work.

now i'm at the end of one's wits

    Try using the clean all command:

    Diskpart

    List disk

    Select disk 1

    Clean all

    Unfortunately if cleaning with the clean all cmd fails then that is a good indication the drive has gone bad & needs replacing.

    You can try try checking the disk:

    Open powershell with admin & enter:

    chkdsk x: /r /scan /perf change x to the drive letter of the external drive.

    Thanks for the information, I'm sorry about that.

    Try deleting the volume through disk manager and see if there is a problem.

    1. Press Windows+X, select Disk Manager;
    2. Right-click the volume on this disk and select Delete volume.

    If it also has an error, this unit is probably defective and will need to be replaced.
