How we can get rid of this "Type" column here?

Right Click on the Column and un-select "Type", only a temporary fix.

Next time you get into Windows Explorer, the column is back.

    Hi Kevin

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Open that folder in File Explorer

Set your preferred view and set the columns the way you prefer them to be

On the View menu at the top of File Explorer, click Options

On the resulting dialog, select the View tab and click the 'Apply to Folders' button and save that setting.

That will set your preferred view for all folders of the that type

    2

Folders in Windows are all set to one of 5 Types - Videos, Pictures, General Items, Documents and Music

If you want that view to be applied to all folders on your PC, you would need to perform the steps in 1 above for one folder for each of those folder types.

You can change File explorer defaults globally, such as removing the Type column, using the free app WinSetView.

Right click on the column headings to display a context menu

Click on the column(s) you want to add/remove
