Windows 10 version 21H1 (Japanese)

"To update to one of the newer versions of Windows 10, we recommend that you use the appropriate Enablement Package KB (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. To find the EKB for a specific OS, go to the Improvements section and click or tap the OS name to expand the collapsible section."

Hi, I was reading the above article and wondered if, I need that Enablement Package KB (EKB) and where to find on my computer? Where is the improvements section?

I shall be thankful for any guidance.

    Hello Ari94,

Good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Since your using Window version 21H1, it shares a common core operating system

with 21H2, activating new features by installing the enablement package KB5003791.

You can also check Shawn Brink's article below for more details.

    https://www.tenforums.com/windows-10-news/18260...

If this does not work, you can use the Windows Update assistant to upgrade your current Windows version to 21H2.

    Hello ,

Click 'Update Now' at the link below to download the Windows 10 Update Assistant.

Using the tool to upgrade your Windows version will not delete your files and installed apps.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

    Run the Windows10Upgrade9252.exe

Click Update Now and wait for the process to complete

Note: It is always a good practice to backup your important files first before performing any Windows upgrades or re-installations.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

    Hi John DeV,

    In this article it says

"Prerequisites Before updating to Windows 10, version 21H2 using an enablement package, you must be running Windows 10, version 2004, 20H2, or 21H1. You must have the following prerequisites installed before applying this update: Servicing stack update for Windows 10, version 2004: September 8, 2020 or a later servicing stack update September 14, 2021 – KB5005565 (OS Build 19041.1237) or a later cumulative update"

My computer update history is from Dec 2020 therefore the Servicing stack update I can not find. But KB5005565 is there. Question is from where to get KB5003791. Could not download from Tenforum as it is marked security risk by Internet security. Any suggestions?

PS; Will try this one later

"Click 'Update Now' at the link below to download the Windows 10 Update Assistant".

Thank you for your help always. Will be back later.

I wonder why it says Unmark as Answer, I did not marked as answer

    Hello Ari94,

Yes. You can backup your important files to an external hard drive with enough free space.

You're welcome. Stay safe and have a great weekend!

    Kind regards,
