I have an Access Database that I created with Access 2016 on my home computer no one has the file open and it is stored locally on C:\Users\username\Documents Folder. No matter what i do i cannot compact and repair without getting this message "Could Not Use Database; File Already in Use"

I just found the solution to the problem - I have Bitdefender (free Edition) installed and it was somehow locking the Access DB file. I had a suspicion it was the anti-virus but disabling it did not resolve the issue so i left it alone - but after some research someone mentioned uninstalling Bitdefender which I just did and I'm happy to say... the problem "Could Not Use Database; File Already in Use" has gone away.

Does this happen with all databases or just one?
Every database I create and save to any folder on my computer. I could create the database save it close it then run Compact and Repair and just as quickly tells me file in use 😢
In that case, I would suspect your Access installation. Maybe try repairing or reinstalling it.

Not sure how to fix your problem from here. One last step I might recommend, just to confirm if the problem is with your machine, is to take a copy of one of your db and try to do a C&R on another machine.

How about?
Create a new blank database and try to do a C&R. If you get the same error, can you send the new db to me via email? I can then give it a try and let you know if I get the same error or not.
