Dell support just found a critical driver for System BIOS. Installed the new driver but it had no impact on my microphone problem. If it can't find my internal microphone, is it possible that it somehow got deleted. If so, is there a way to reinstall the internal microphone
built-in microphone is not working...no input device found
I saw this question already posted, but it was closed. I followed all the steps, but it still couldn't find the built-in microphone. It worked while it was still under warranty

Try to check if the mic is disabled in the BIOS. Follow the steps below.
Restart your computer.
As soon as the Dell logo appears, repeatedly tap F2 to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup.
In the BIOS, use your keyboard or mouse to navigate to:
System Configuration or Integrated Devices
This is where options like Camera, Microphone, and Audio Controller might appear.
Look for any of the following:
Microphone
Microphone Array
Internal Audio Input
Audio Controller (make sure this is enabled)
If the microphone or audio input is disabled, enable it.
Press F10 to Save and Exit the BIOS.
If you are not comfortable navigating through the BIOS, you may contact Dell Technical Support to help you over the phone.
