How to get into Facebook when they won't accept password and you have even changed it.

I just got a brand new computer. My old one was acting up; now I can't get into Facebook on either one. I keep getting a page telling me to go to my Facebook account on another device and open notifications but I can't get into Facebook on either computer. I did get a windows notification from Facebook saying my password had been changed successfully but it won't accept it when I type it in. I am confounded; no idea how to get round this.

    Hi Bo,

I have tried everything you suggested and more. I still keep getting this page:

I have two laptops and I get the same message on both.

    Hi CarolHigginsXX

Thank you for posting here in Microsoft Community. Hope you are doing well.

I totally understand that you need help especially since you've already changed your password and still can't get in. It seems like Facebook's security measures are preventing access, possibly due to a device change or login verification issue.

    Steps to Try

    1. Use Facebook’s Account Recovery Page
      • Go to Facebook Account Recovery
      • Enter your email or phone number and follow the steps to reset your password again.
    2. Check for Login Approvals
      • If Facebook is asking you to verify via another device, try logging in from a phone or tablet where you’ve previously accessed Facebook.
      • If you can get in, go to Settings > Security & Login and review your login approvals.
    3. Clear Browser Cache & Cookies
      • Sometimes, stored data can interfere with login attempts.
      • Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, then restart your computer.
    4. Try a Different Browser or Device
      • If possible, attempt logging in from a different browser or device to see if the issue persists.
    5. Contact Facebook Support

Since Facebook handles account security internally, their support team is the best resource for resolving this issue. I hope this helps you get back in—let me know if you need more guidance!

    Best Regards

    Bo
