KB5055523 and .NET Framework failed to install, then suddenly disappeared when I retry

Something's wrong with Windows 11 Updates for KB5055523 and .NET Framework. I tried installing the updates and waited until they finished installing. After I restarted the computer, I got to Windows Update again, but I got a message that these updates failed to install. When I retried, the updates suddenly disappeared from Update History! That's very strange! Why did the updates get pulled from Windows Update without a trace? 😟

Standalone install also failed for me. There is something very wrong with this update.

Yeah and I don't know about anyone else, but mine consistently fails with an Error code: (0x80070003). I have never had any Windows Updates issues with this current system. Looking around I'm seeing quite a lot of reports regarding this Windows Update specifically. Seems like the kind of issue to review the update about. KB5055523

Same for me, both installation methods fail. I'm also getting 0x8000ffff and 0x80248007. SFC /scannow says there is a system repair pending requiring a reboot but nothing happens on reboot. DISM scanhealth and restorehealth fail with 0x8000ffff.

    David,

Help with what? The update still will not install. The issue is not resolved for my system and the Windows Update Troubleshooter did not work and find the issue. I've also tried to download and install manually. When these steps do not work, what next?

Well, I suppose it's kinda odd that the "Uninstall Windows 11 updates" confirms both updates as "installed", but not the Update History itself. Very strange.
