Hello, The Unknown3
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
Thank you for your feedback. I understand that you are experiencing issues with not being able to connect to the Internet after removing Norton 360, and since you do not have access to the Internet at this time, here are some troubleshooting options:
- Press the Power Button and select Reboot, and hold down the Shift key during the reboot process.
On the Select Options screen, select Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Reboot. “Reboot”.
After rebooting, select “4” or press F4 to enter “Safe Mode with Command Prompt”. This will load minimal drivers and services and may bypass residual Norton interference.
Run the System File Checker:
At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter. The system will scan and repair any corrupted system files, which may help restore network functionality.
- Manually delete Norton residual files:
Navigate to C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86), locate and delete any folders related to Norton or Symantec (e.g. Norton, Symantec, etc.).
Press Win + R, type regedit, press Enter, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE, locate and delete any registry keys related to Norton or Symantec. Note: Editing the registry can be risky, so please proceed with caution and make a backup before deleting. Restart your computer when finished.
Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support to view the article.
If none of the above methods work, we recommend that you create a USB installation media on another computer and use it to reinstall Windows. before doing so, please back up your important data.
Reinstall or clean install Windows 11 - Microsoft Community
