Windows 11 updates (KB5063060 and KB5056579) keeps failing to install.

The newest updates,

2025-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5063060, error code 0x80071a91),

and

2025-04 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5056579, error code 0x80071a91)

keep failing to install. I've been having this issue even before updating my Windows from 10 to 11, which was a few months ago. I tried the solutions provided in this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/update-failing-to-install-on-win-11-22h2-kb5063060/6c799d96-cfce-4a04-bf7a-d9e7430eb62b, but unfortunately nothing worked.

Please look into this issue, as I think these updates are also affecting my microphone input - it just records static noise instead of my actual voice when using my pc microphone.

Are they releasing a hotfix soon? I've had this issue for a few months now, and nothing has happened yet. I was told that the June update would fix those issues (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/your-device-is-missing-important-security-and/39b60a59-7840-49da-a095-803374812282) , but it's still persisting.

I also tried installing the updates manually while disconnected from the internet (it worked when updating from Windows 10 to 11 using the iso file - please refer to the link for details), and it also didn't work.

This is also affecting my pc audio input as well, which I frequently use - is there a way to fix this issue by itself for now? I tried the troubleshooting method and it directed me back to the initial Windows update page.

Sorry for bombarding you with questions, this is just starting to frustrate me.

If most methods fail and the In-place upgrade did not work, you may need to consider doing a Reset this PC with Keep my files option.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns by clicking the "Reply" button at the end of my response. I will appreciate it.

Already tried resetting my pc - both tries (keeping my files and deleting everything) didn't work.

If performing a Reset this PC did not work, you may need to consider performing a Clean Installation of Windows 11.

Download the Media Creation tool (Click Download tool now). Use the tool to "Create installation media (USB flash drive at least 8GB in size) to install Windows 11". Instructions inside the link.

Note: Please make sure to uncheck the "Use the recommended options for this PC" box.

Please try checking the link below for more details.

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-windows-11...

Insert the USB Installation media into your computer. Please change the boot order in the Bios Settings. Boot your PC from the Installation Media you created.

Kindly refer to the link below on How to perform a Clean Installation of Windows 11

    Hi again,

Both problematic updates are now installed for me. I'm really not sure what I did exactly but the last thing I did was perform a clean win11 install and then uninstalled all the cumulative updates I had on from "Update history">"Uninstal updates. Then tried a couple of times to install KB5063060 and it failed with the usual "Something didn't go as planned".. However, after I went to "Update history" again it said the update was installed, but in the general update section it was shown as failed to install with one of the 0x codes, so I just decided to let it go and wait for the call from the microsoft support. Then I restarted a couple of times due to other Dell updates (this was yesterday) 21.06, and went on with my life. Today I wake up to check if the update is still "errored" and it says I'm up to date now... Don't know what to say, except sorry for not memorizing all of the steps , but they weren't medium tech savvy for sure like stopping processes, deleting update folders in the windows folder, typing stuff in the cmd or any of the other fixes on the internet. I guess it's just another buggy software booboo like the ones I delt with in my early computer struggles with win98 or XP which I fixed with accidental and kind of illogical approaches. Or maybe they did something yesterday, I guess I'll never know. Hope this get fixed with you guys too.
