The newest updates,

2025-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5063060, error code 0x80071a91),

and

2025-04 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5056579, error code 0x80071a91)

keep failing to install. I've been having this issue even before updating my Windows from 10 to 11, which was a few months ago. I tried the solutions provided in this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/update-failing-to-install-on-win-11-22h2-kb5063060/6c799d96-cfce-4a04-bf7a-d9e7430eb62b, but unfortunately nothing worked.

Please look into this issue, as I think these updates are also affecting my microphone input - it just records static noise instead of my actual voice when using my pc microphone.

I feel your pain. This is very frustrating.

I just bought a new PC and KB5063060 was waiting to be installed. (The only software I have installed so far is HWiNFO to document my system hardware.) This Windows update failed three times and wasted three hours of my life cleaning up the files and retrying according to all the official suggestions. I've since installed Microsoft's "Show or hide updates" MiniTool to block this update and will wait for MS to fix this mess.

In summary: A clean/new install is no guarantee that KB5063060 can be installed successfully.

Yep me too. Brand new laptop with 11 Pro. Can’t play with my new toy as it’s too busy downloading, installing updates and restarting or more to the point failing to do so. I disabled updates on my old windows 7 laptop as updates were bringing it to its knees and it served me well for years without any updates - I will be doing the same on this laptop.
