Node.JS JavaScript Runtime pops up from time to time

Hello,

Recently, I have noticed something that I hadn't noticed before.

Occasionally, a command prompt flashes up on my screen.

An icon gets added to the Taskbar, which only stays for a couple of seconds.

This last time, I was able to right-click on it before it disappeared and pinned it to Task Bar so I could identify it.

It is Node.JS JavaScript Runtime.

So, obviously some script is being triggered by something and getting executed.

Is this a normal activity in Windows 10?

I have not personally installed or ever used Node.js, so I am wondering where it came from.

Should I be concerned?

If so, what steps should I take?

Thanks

Tony C

It does not look like Node.js is installed. It does not show up in Control Panel > Programs

The closest thing I could find is node-main.js buried deep down in an Adobe subdirectory

Which leads me to believe that the fact that I see a command prompt flash for a second, that appears to be node.js, is perhaps a strange behavior, but probably not a threat.

    Would you agree?

    Hi ,

It is not a threat, you are right as I informed that it can be used for script in third party and Adobe programs used to activate Adobe background services if I am not mistaken the verify Adobe programs.

Give feedback if the information was useful or not.
