Thanks for reaching out. Since you are using Azure Key Vault for connection, have your granted the Purview managed identity access to your Azure Key Vault? If not, please check below:
Currently Azure Key Vault supports two permission models:
- Option 1 - Access Policies
- Option 2 - Role-based Access Control

If yes, then something wrong with AKV configuration. If you are not able to establish connection with direct credentials then some required permissions are missing for the account/service principal you are using. Could you please verify these...

If we add azure purview fromsynapse workspace directly it works fine, but not via another options - Does this mean you were able to use same AKV to establish connection to same ADLS Gen2 from Synapse? And is it the same storage account and same AKV? Please help me understand better so that I can try it on my end and share my findings.Thank you
