Latest Update Turns My Screen Green [Dolby Vision]

So, since the latest update Dolby Vision seems to be now forced on for me. Even though it is not ticked in the settings, it still forces it. It turns everything on my screen green. Then if I go into the settings, I turn it on and back off it fixes it. However, when running certain games, it launches with Dolby Vision activated. It's really annoying. When I restart my PC, it kicks back on too and everything goes back green.

Anyone else have this issue?

Hello, thanks for reaching out. I'm Ace, one of the Independent Advisors. I can understand your concern and please don't worry I am here to help you.

It looks like the latest Windows 11 update is forcing Dolby Vision on, even when it's disabled in settings, causing a green screen issue. This problem has been reported by other users, and there are a few potential fixes. One workaround is to toggle Dolby Vision on and off in settings, which temporarily resolves the issue. You may also try disabling hardware acceleration in Windows settings. You can try this by going to Settings > System > Display > Graphics, selecting your affected apps, and turning off hardware acceleration. Then you would also update your graphics drivers, as outdated or incompatible drivers can cause display issues. Open Device Manager, find your GPU under Display Adapters, right-click, and select Update driver.

Let me know if this method works.

    Thanks!

I am having the same issue. I have not used my PC in a couple weeks so I ran updates today (May 30, 2025) and once it restarted from the update install everything changed to green. I’m not sure what to do. I’m debating if I should do a clean install of windows if it would help or not. I can’t use it for my purpose until this is fixed.

I have the exact same problem with my LG C2 OLED after KB5058499 Update. After every restart, the picture turns green and purple. Only after fiddling with the HDR settings does it work again. Something's wrong with the settings, something's not working.
