I am also getting an install error code of 0x800f0993
Windows 11 24h2 update not installing. (KB5051987)
Same issue as a few weeks ago where I would get an error trying to update Windows 24H2, the only solution was an in-place upgrade. Now even if I do an in-place upgrade it won't update my windows at all and it's basically a waste of time. I've tried everything.
Error: 0x800f0823 or even 0x800f081f.
Trying to reinstall windows via the repair method of going to System> Recoveryand then "Reinstall Now" gives me the "Repair Version of Windows not found, please try again later"
I've heard that some people can help me on this forum via CBS logs or whatever. I would be greatful if anyone can help me with this horrid issue I'm having.

2025-02-21T16:17:43+00:00 Windows 11 24H2 should never have been made broadly available. It has completely corrupted my OS and left my computer in a bricked state. I believe the original issues may have been my Asus motherboard or GPU because I've read there were issues with Asus hardware but thosee were supposedly resolved. The problem is the update was supposed to be blocked if your Asus hardware was not updated (BIOS firmware), but it still installed on my computer and now it's bricked. I literally can't do anything to get 24H2 to install. I've reformatted my SSD, updated my BIOS, and downloaded 24H2 to a USB drive and still it fails to install every time. Seriously, shame on Microsoft. There should be a class action lawsuit for this.

2025-02-18T19:02:07+00:00 I'm having trouble with the installation of 2025-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5051987), but the only manifestation of the problem is that it remains in my list of Updates and reports that it is pending a restart. I have restarted several times, and it still shows as 'pending'.
It does not show up in my Update History..

2025-02-15T03:51:30+00:00 I, like many others have suffered update issues attempting Windows 11 update version 24H2. I read many of the posts for solutions and walked through many of the clean-ups and restore advice given. Nothing seemed to work, like many others. Also, other issues began to creep into the OS after the Windows 11 barrier was encountered. Chrome began crashing, then MS Teams started freezing upon start. The last issue was sporadic sound capture failure. Could this all be associated with the known issues of 24H2 or earlier windows 11 updates?
Then, a light literally fired up, showcasing what turned out to be my issue. I own an older pc, but fully Windows 11 capable machine. My system also includes an ASUS motherboard and its proprietary software bundle, Armoury Crate, which updated after the initial Windows 11 "Reveal" one afternoon, unannounced. This software installed (re-installed?) a Service named Nahimic, which was viewable on lower right icon tray (by yellow mic) and causing all kinds of havoc across my system. A quick (filled with Chrome crashes) search revealed it could be malware, or just really invasive software. Once identified, stopped via MSConfig and system reboot: AMAZING....all issues resolved. Windows updated seamlessly and all applications returned to their former normal states.
Now I'm sure this won't help the majority of users out there, but if it helps just one, my typing here was worth it. It's a rough world on the border of Windows 10 and 11. Good luck out there!!!
