OneCore-DeviceAssociationService - Error ID 3503

Hello,

Last night updated my Windows 11 to 24H2 - 26100.2454. Since then everytime when I turn off my pc or do a reboot in Event Viewer I got this error:

OneCore-DeviceAssociationService ID 3503

The Device Association Service dedected an error discovering endpoints.

Event Data

AbortingProtocolProvider Internal DAS error

ClientProcessName c:/Windows/System32/svchost.exe

ClientPid 9664

InternalError 3

Never had this error before. I've seen few other reports from people that they got that too. Wondering is this something serious? Should I worry? Does Microsoft know about it? Is this going to be fixed?

Got the same issue today. Good to know i’m not alone. For now, it seems harmless and safe to ignore.

Getting this error since a few days as well. Unfortunately this error seems to be the cause of my windows just completely locking up. Randomly after a restart after I get onto my desktop, I will just be unable to do anything. Cannot open programs, cannot shut down or restart via start menu etc.

After the lockup I turn off my pc by holding the power button and when I get back into windows (and it happens to not lock up or whatever this would be called), I can see the 'Device Association Service detected an endpoint discovery failure.' error at that exact time in the Event Viewer. There are also no other error/critical events to be found, other than 'Unexpected shutdown' etc. from forcefully shutting down my pc.

I have tried so many possible solutions the past few days and I'm honestly just lost because nothing works, except for disabling ALL non-microsoft services. But there is no way I can feasibly test disabling EVERY SINGLE service individually and re-testing.

Does someone maybe have an idea how I can find out which service is causing this?

Look into "Details" tap in Event Viewer, and get "ClienPid"s.

Execute Task Manager, go "Processes" tap, right-click and make "PID" checked, and find the same PIDs.

If you cannot find some of them, the processes or services are not running at the point.

In my case, 3 services total have caused "Device Association Service" failure.

    Network Connected Devices Auto-Setup

    Print Spooler

    Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)

They all have something to do with the only one printer I have.
