After updating to the Windows 11 24H2 version, I am experiencing significant battery-related issues on my device. This Include

  1. Faster Battery Drain: I have noticed a substantially reduced battery life compared to the performance before the update. Even during minimal usage, the battery percentage drops quickly.
  2. Charging Problems include slower charging times, failure to charge fully, or the battery percentage getting stuck at a certain level.

My system hangs for 5 to 10 minutes after signing in, which wasn't an issue before I updated to Windows 11 24H2..

I've done a in place downgrade (if that's the right word) using the media creation tool, kept all my files and gone back to windows 10, battery life has gone back to normal after about 5 battery cycles

I think it's better to completely start fresh on Windows 10. My thought is CPU instability, but who knows

DO NOT upgrade back to Windows 11 24h2, I even bought a new battery for my laptop because of it

It was perfect on Windows 11 24h1

I went through the energy report and battery report, and nothing stood out... I was on 3h30mins pre 24h2, and after the upgrade, I couldn't get more than 50 minutes

Hi, I’m Vinay. Thanks for reaching out.

I’m here to help you today.

Few other users also facing the same issue after updating to 24H2.

Please report this issue to Microsoft through Microsoft Feedback Hub application ( Win + F ) . So they will get to know that users are facing this issue.

Meanwhile, Fully charge the battery to 100% and then use it until it drops to 0% without connecting it to power. Repeat this process a couple of times to recalibrate the battery.

I hope this helps . Please let me know if you have any questions

    Regards,

    Vinay

Make sure you have the latest bios and drivers from the system manufacturer.
