There might be a few things interfering with Copilot’s image generation. Here are a few tricks to try:

First, clearing your cookies can sometimes solve this, along with removing any extensions you have in Microsoft Edge and disconnecting from a VPN if you’re using one. If it’s still not working, try switching to inPrivate browsing to see if that helps.

You might also want to test it in a different browser, just in case it’s a browser-specific issue. And if you have another Microsoft account, try logging in with that to see if the issue is tied to your main account.

If everything else checks out, it’s possible the Bing image server is having a glitch. Keep in mind there’s also a daily limit of 25 image generations per account, so it could be that as well. Let me know if any of these help!

Hi Shubh, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

I have experienced the same problem recently. What message appeared when you created a prompt? Also, is this when using the Copilot sidebar? For me, it prompted me to sign in even though I am already signed in.I refreshed the chat by clicking the refresh icon in the Copilot sidebar, started a new topic, and it worked for me.

If it doesn't work, see if deleting the site data could fix the issue. To do this, go to Edge Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data. Search copilot.microsoft.com then click the bin icon to remove and check if the issue is fixed.

I'm using copilot in Edge, and I've tried in in Firefox and I get the same notice all day today...cannot generate images. I have cleared every possible thing I can clear, numerous times. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled copilot and it's the same message. I've used a former prompt that copilot had no issues generating and it still tells me it cannot generate the image. I'm at a complete loss at this point.

I have Copilot Pro, as well as the Copilot app, and using Copilot on Edge and 365. All 3 are failing to generate images after about 6. It's not a cache problem, Copilot is telling me it's probably due to system overload, meaning the time of day and too many paying customers. Copilot asked me to report it to Microsoft, walking me through 5 different ways, that all led to community help, which never helps. Last it advised, I try in person at a Microsoft store, try to find support from a real person via X, or search for a agent on LinkedIn. I'm totally out of options.

caution: don't delete login.live.com cookies as those keep you logged in and erasing them will sign you out
