Windows 11 OEM licence deactivated after 24h2 update

Hello,

A few days ago I installed the new 24h2 update on my laptop and after rebooting the system, my Windows 11 Home license no longer worked. Every time I went to the Configuration place where the licenses are activated, it would show an error 0xC004F213. Every time I would click on "Solve problems" it would not provide me with any solution.

After 1 day, I tried to enter my license as a new license, by clicking on "Change product key" and pasted my current license. Again, this would not solve the problem and throw me an error. This time the code was 0x803fa067.

Now, I constantly have that error saying that my license is not valid. https://answers-afd.microsoft.com/static/images/image-not-found.jpgI have checked and downgrading to the previous version 23h also seems impossible.

Is there any fix for this or am I going to lose my valid and paid license due to an update bug?

I am having the same problem AGAIN as well, the same issue occurred in Oct 24 when this update was released. I contacted support and was given a bunch of steps to fix but I had neither the time nor inclination to follow them so rolled back. Now it has been auto rolled out I have the exact same problem and it is not even listed on the known issues which I have to say I find utterly astounding. There seems to be no way now to get to a live chat with Microsoft to try to resolve the issue.

I have a legally purchased laptop with a legally purchased oem licence. Why are Microsoft introducing a time bound Denial of Service Attack on their customers. This is not what should be expected.

Please can the Microsoft CISO explain why this attack has happened and when a proper update will be supplied through the update mechanism and before the 30 days activation time out.

Customers should not be expected to follow instructions that may or may not work or purchase duplicate licences.

A rapid response from Microsoft would be very much appreciated as the level of irritation and inconvenience to many users is very clear.

    Same here,

bought an original license for several hundred Euros from an official vendor to switch a Win11-capable machine (all hardware requirements met) from Linux to Win11.

Now after the 24H2 update the product key went missing (and of course I can't find the card I got it on).

Maybe it was a mistake to change from Linux in the first place...

Me too. Just accepted 24H2 and it DEACTIVATED my system so bad that now it won't even let me buy Windows Home to Pro upgrade again. No one is calling me back either. So sad.

    Hello, Valkyre here

In the end, I contacted with the seller where I got my laptop and my license installed. Their support team fixed it by providing me a new license and activating Windows again with it. Now I have a new license.

Sorry I cannot be of greater help :(

Yeah I tried it. No one called me after month of waiting. I think of just buying some cheap new key and be done with it.
