RDS easy printing server 2019

Question

Hi,

We have 4 servers 2019 std that we have installed RDS role on all 4 servers. We have also enable the gpo use Easy printing drivers, but when RDP to the server the local printer dont get redirected and event 11111 dont get logged. they only time we can redirect the local printer is when installing the printer driver on the servers. in server 2008 R2 and server 2012 R2 we didn't have to install any driver for the printer and 99% of the time the printers used the RDS easy printing drivers.

Has MS change something in server 2019?

Hi anonymous user thank you for the reply,

Every printer that I add to my local PC when connect to a server 2019 if the driver of that printer is install printer get redirected if dirver is not installed no that printer dont get redirected and no error in system logs.
I did try this on 3 differet server 2019 std and all 3 the same result.
Did a test with Zebra Z411 300 dpi HP printers.

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
Could you please provide the models of your local printers?
How did you deploy the printer with GPO, what settings did you make?

Moreover, is it possible provide a screenshot and attach a description, which will help us to troubleshoot.
Please make sure that the pictures you post do not contain your company and your private information (including but not limited to domain name, public IP, email account, domain account, etc.). These private information must be altered.
