Driver Not Found for Wacom Intuos 3 (Windows 7)

I just bought an Intuos 3, but upon trying to install its driver I keep getting the same error: "Driver Not Found"

I recently ran an older Wacom tablet (ET-0405A-U) that I completely uninstalled before installing a new driver for my Intuos 3 (PTZ-430).

After unistalling, then restarting.. I first tried installing Driver 634-3.exe. Restarted. I got the error when trying to access 'properties': No Driver Found.

So I uninstalled again - Restarted.. etc. I tried another Driver... and another... still getting the same results.

I tried:

6.3.11-4a.exe

636w3.exe

6.3.11w3.exe

6.3.10w2.exe

I tried installing all of these following the same restart and uninstall procedure and continue getting the same error.

I tried installing drivers before plugging in the tablet.. and I tried having the tablet plugged in while installing drivers. The tablet is plugged in each time I try to click properties and I get the error.

When I plug in the tablet, my computer says it has installed its driver software through windows update and it is ready to use.

I tried removing my wacom preferences on my tablet, recovering the preferences, removing them again. Nothing works.

I have literally tried just about everything and have restarted my computer dozens of times. I do know why it is not finding the driver.

I have even used 'Services' and manually started the program - restarted it.. etc. Nothing solves the issue of the driver not being found.

Is there possibly some Wacom files I need a toolkit to remove that is causing the issue? Upon searching my program files, I find nothing when everything is uninstalled.

On my spouse's laptop, which runs windows 7, she installed driver 6.3.11-4a.exe and it worked fine. She also removed our old tablet software just like I did.

I don't know how to post my computer details? If that information is helpful please let me know where to find that info so I can provide it.

Thank you.

I figured out the solution through Wacom's forum.

I followed this procedure: http://forum.wacom.eu/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7926

Deleted the specified files in my Windows and System32 after uninstalling my Wacom Driver, rebooted, reinstalled the Driver, Rebooted, and then it worked like a charm!

The hell is over! Hope this helps anyone having the same issue with this error.

    I'm trying to run Intuos 3 (PTZ-430). I'm upgrading from ET-0405-U.
