How to change color background in Solitaire game

I would like to know if there is a way to expand the colors for the SOLITAIRE game? My dad finds the colors for the background and cards are too harsh and they appear blurry to him and me also. He wondered if we could add more colors so you can get a bigger variety to both the background and the cards. Thanks!

Sandy

    Hi,

You will not be able to add colors to the cards or the background, but you can change the color of the background and cards and also enlarge the cards.

    a. Click on start and then click on Games.

    b. Open Solitaire.

    c. Click on Game and then click on Change Appearance.

    d. Select your preferred background or deck color.

    e. Choose the option "Large Print Deck." This will enlarge the card identifier but not the card. So the cards will be the same size, but the name of the card will be bigger.

This post is dated 2011. Just installed Windows 10 and don't see change appearance option. This upsets my 79 year old mom as she plays it all the time and she liked the autumn leaves.

When I go to Games it comes up with Hoyle Card games. When I left click on that it comes up with Pin to start or more. I have to right click on to get it to open. That takes me to where my files are listed. There is a Hoyle Card game show up as a file by its self.  When I try to open it, it can't be found.   I can open the game by  start then Microsoft Solitaire Game, then click the three lines on the left top corner and click on Klondike and it will go back to the original background but it won't stay on that when I close the game.  One day when I was playing cards a screen just came up with different back grounds, I clicked on one to see how I liked it and it isn't good. Now I can't find that screen again to change it back. Thanks for  your help.

I try to follow your instructions and can't find the "change appearance'.

    I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit OS Version 1607 Build 14393.693.

Installed Microsoft Solitaire Collection and running the Wild West Pack.

I want to change the background/card color.  I can't see them clearly with my color blindness.

Can it be done?  (Hint:  Not with the above instructions.)

    Thanks,

I did not find this answer helpful.  Contrary to the above directions, I do not see no options that allow me to change background.  The Game Options box lists only sound effects, music, hints, tutorial and animation--none oof which allow change of background or card pattern.I was able to change the default background when I first opened the solitaire portfolio, but am not able to return to it.  Note: these are the free solitaire games downloaded through the XBox icon.
