Office 365 Admin left company

The Office 365 administrator of one of my customers has left the company with the username and password of the account he used to access the admin portal.

The new administrator is now locked out of the account as all the password reset options are linked to the old employee's mobile number and email address.

They tried to reach out to the support, but were informed that only the administrator can request for support as the account is registered under their name.

Please advise ASAP.

Thanks,

Jamal

Hi Jamal,

If the only global administrator has left the company, a user or a non-global administrator has to be assigned as the global administrator instead of resetting the password of the absent global administrator. Handling of account related issues requires customer to provide additional information that involves PII information. Going forward I will move this conversation to Private Message (PM) to obtain such details. We will investigate and advise on the next step to proceed.
