Just got new computer with Microsoft Office 16 and Windows 10.  I really love the old Microsoft Digital Imaging Pro 9 program so I need to know if I can transfer it to my new computer OR if there is a newer photo program that is similar to the one I am accustomed to that would be better?

There are a number of newer photo editing tools. Which one is best really depends on the user interface you are already used to.

What sort of photo editing do you need to do? There are a number of free and paid apps you can get from the Windows 10 Store. The free ones tend to be very limited / focused function. Take a look through them, you might find one or more that will be able to replace the functions you need.

    Some examples include

    • MS Paint - it is being discontinued, replace
    • Paint.NET - free online download similar to Paint
    • MS Paint 3D - new image creation and editing tool released with the Fall Creators Update.

Personally, I use IrfanView for image/hoto viewing and simple editing like cropping and dust cleanup.

For more complex photo editing I use free GIMP. There are other full function photo editors you can find online.

Your best bet is to search the web for recent reviews of photo editing tools to find a tool that you can use.

The following are two items that discuss the topic

How to download Microsoft Digital Image on Windows 10

Considering that this program was discontinued in 2007, even if you get it work, any future Win10 update could cause it to no longer be functional in whole or in part.
