Issues related to video playback and hardware acceleration have been reported since the chrome version of Edge was released. Why has this issue never been fixed? Latest drivers, Windows 11, all updated, video playback on YouTube still a total mess. Disable hardware acceleration and all is fine. But then I have an odd issue were scrolling in the browser causes excessive gpu usage.

Hello Brett, sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I will do my best to help you.

Try to enable high-performance GPU for Microsoft Edge browser.

Just need to click on Windows start button, select Settings and in the left side select Display.

On the right pane, scroll-down to "Graphics"

Select "Microsoft Edge" and click "option"

    Now, you'll view:

    Let Windows decide

    Power saving

    High performance.

    Try high performance.

Did you actually read my question, your response is totally unrelated to what I posted.

Yes I did read your message. You ask why it was never solved, but we can't answer that because we don't work for Microsoft but we are only volunteers on this forum.

I gave you a possible solution when you said that the browser was causing excessive GPU usage.

So how do we report these issues then to Microsoft. If I already have excessive GPU usage how can setting power to max fix that?

You can always call your local Microsoft customer service number if you want to speak directly to one of the techs.

And when I said to increase the gpu it was because you said that the scrolling was slow.

So that was a solution to try.
