The “choose where to get my apps” option is NOT available in the window when I open”Advanced app settings”. It just had “Share Across Devices” and “Archive apps”.

Attempting to install an app NOT recommended by Microsoft, but it’s one I trust from Garmin. When I try to install it says I have to change my settings for where i can get my apps from.

But when I go to the “Advanced app settings”, that option isn’t available. It only displays “Share across devices”, “Archive apps”, and “App execution aliases”.

Why is it not available for me so that I can change that preference. I’m logged in as the admin, but that option is unavailable.

Hi Elliot,

If the "Choose where to get Apps" option is missing, your system is most likely in S Mode. To verify that, open System, and select “Activation.” If it’s in S mode, it says “Windows 11 Home in S mode.”

To install 3rd party apps, you need to switch out of S Mode to Windows 10 Home.
