I hate Microsoft

I have been using windows for over thirty years and it has always had huge problems. From it inception back up and restore has never worked. And that is why no computer repair shop to this day uses it. But that is just an old example. Let’s dive into my current situation and why I hate them with a passion. I recently, due to motherboard issues needed to get a new computer. I opted for a Dell xps. It came with windows 11, my only option. Mistake number one. You see I needed to run windows 10 because my audio interface is FireWire and windows dropped fire wire support with 11. I did not feel like buying an expensive new audio interface. As well a lot of my software will not run on windows 11. Some of it are old VST plugins that are creative tools for me, and I need to use them. Oh and don’t talk JBridge to me. Yeah try that in 11. So I decided to add a drive and run a dual boot windows 10 drive and a windows 11 drive. Sounds good right. Well no, windows 11 does everything to prevent you from doing it. Their lovely UEFI bios is the devil…truly. Finally with help of two computer shops and a gazillion friends I got two drives with each version working. I reinstalled all of my music software and made copious back ups with Fbackup, Aomie backupper, and windows. I went through making multiple backup boot recovery drives with a lot of pain getting there. Finally I though all was good….until windows 11 decided to update upon a startup. It went well and windows 11 seemed all fine. But when I went to the bios upon restart to load windows 10, which is now the only way to have a dual boot, thanks microsuck, it would not boot into the 10 drive. After four try’s it finally went to the windows 10 drive. Everything looked fine and all of the. Programs were working but when I went to shut it down, the start menu as well as the search bar and most everything else in the task bar would not work. Somehow the windows 11 update on the other drive messed with 10 on the other. Evil. I tried to restore from different backups to no avail, still no menu etc. I tried to do a repair..nope. I finally tried a new install from a boot disk….no drives seen to install to…****! My last hope is a new install from a never used windows 10 usb stick, but I doubt it will work either. It will give me the same bs about no drives to install onto. Oh and let’s not forget when I was installing software in windows 10 it actually put it on the 11 drive. So in conclusion, I don’t believe we ever landed on the moon or are communicating with voyager 1 and 2. Not possible…unless nasa is using apple. So, yes, I hate you Microsoft and will never endorse any one to use your products. You really suck.

Well it’s over. I asked for my money back, and was told to give tech support another try. The tech support technician was horribly rude and told they will not support my computer with premium support unless I am running Windows 11. S I tried customer service but they too are not in the US although they say my support includes US service. No issue with India, but they just follow a script. I will now just resign that my computer was a $2000 loss. I will buy anything but Dell. I do plan to live stream me throwing my new computer off of the roof as well as make videos for social media. They won’t care, they don’t care about anything negative about them. But perhaps some customers will get a little happiness.

I beg to differ. Microsoft cares about something - MONEY. Nothing more. Nothing less. Unfortunately, the provide a "Low Cost Technically Acceptable" product that companies LOVE. LCTA is a government contracting term for the cheapest crap we can purchase that will just barely squeak by. That's Windows (especially 11). I started using PC-DOS in 1984 and took the roller coaster ride. With Win11, I'm getting off the train wreck and moving to Linux.

I opened a ticket with MS on their Outlook for iPad product in spring 2022. The ninth iteration of that ticket was closed last week. The problem - incorrect notification counts when emails arrive - has not been fixed, nor do I expect it to be.

I'm currently re-designing my entire IT life with plans for ZERO Micro$oft in it when I'm done.

I tried switching to Chrome, and I couldn't do anything there compared to windows. I could try apple, but I think apple struggles with the same issues. I'm so unhappy with Microsoft, but it's the only system I feel comfortable on. My computer was giving me audio problems, and usually that means there's an update for a driver I need. I see a windows update and click it. Completely got rid of all my files. I have a backup on onedrive, not that big of a deal, until I learned that a project I had worked on was completely gone, as the davinci resolve I work with for some reason doesn't have backups that work? (I'm moving to a new system soon, but I've been working on this video for 2-3 years) Had to do a system restore, knowing that eventually I'm going to have to download the update to keep my computer working. Windows has so many problems, it's ridiculous. This might be a bit of a stupid comment, but I'm just so frustrated. Lots of stories of Windows destroying computers for so it forces other buyers to get new computers after like, a year. You are NOT the only one struggling because of windows, lol. I think a lot of people are frustrated.
